Outer Sunset

We went to Trevor today in the Sunset district to get some garden stuff and I couldn't resist climbing up the Grand View to get some nice photos. The first one is facing outer Sunset and the ocean, the other is facing Forest Hill.

A lot of building and rebuilding going on up the street so we have quite some traffic. Not that we mind but some of our neighbors have started to complain.

The heat is on

It's hot here. Even on the bay the wind felt like a hairdryer when I took the ferry yesterday. And it's gonna switch to the typical sticky mugginess on Friday which makes it even more uncomfortable.

Tales from the drought

The City is trying hard to teach us how to behave in this drought. There are ads all around the Bay Area with suggestions. "Short and steamy"? Sarah practically lives in the shower but she has adjusted herself pretty well after all. I clocked her at 12 minutes this morning. Got to be her personal best.

A Father in law Day Dinner

Sneaking up on Richard was one of the fun stuff we did before we had a Father's Day dinner yesterday. A bit awkward though as it was Richard (Sarah's dad and my father in law) who took us out for dinner - not the other way around. Isn't that kind of crummy?

Rocksteady and WB are advertising pretty aggressively for their upcoming new Batman. They're all over the city, like in the Muni subway. I saw a young woman staring at it yesterday as if she had no clue what it was all about: What IS this, a new movie...?

Despite the drought I think we manage to keep our backyard alive AND worthy our neighborhood. We intend to keep up with the regulations throughout this drought. That goes without saying.

Fallout 4 announced

This morning I smiled all the way to the store. It's delivery day of our favorite breakfast bread. And Bethesda has just announced FALLOUT 4!

You simply have to cherish all those little things in life, right?

June is here and the mandatory water cut rule is in effect. Some of our neighbors seem not to have heard of this but this time it's serious folks. A $48 fine for overusing four times the average customer. We'll be watching you ;-)

Drought. Garden. Work.

Besides fixing the roof we have to do something about the garden. The mandatory water cuts aren't troubling us as all plants are resilient but Sarah wants to rearrange them and I think I get the drift. Kinda.

The best tenants ever!

Daryl and Lea who have rented the mid-section of our house since September checked out the other day. And they left the house in such a super clean condition that we are totally astonished. It's like it never has been occupied at all :-)

Everything is about The Witcher 3 now. Watch this launch cinematic and you will get a good grip of what The Witcher is all about. This is pure awesomeness.

Fallout 4 confirmed?

Are we stepping one step closer to Fallout 4? A CG artist listed a Fallout cinematic trailer on his LinkedIn profile. Does that say anything of real substance? It depends but this artist has been working on Far Cry 4 and Forza (also listed on the profile) so it can't be too far fetched to interpret this as legit info. We will probably know a lot more at this year's E3 in June. Bethesda is going to have its own conference, the first ever, and we are cautiously optimistic this time around.

Dead Island 2 delayed

The follow-up to Techlands Dead Island is pushed back into 2016. This means at least a 6-month delay. A lot of games are being delayed nowadays so it's not something strange. The reason behind this one? It's not stated but we can imagine after the success of Dying Light and after the mediocre reception of the gameplay footage from last year they need to ramp up the whole franchise in quite a few ways.
