Had a late lunch at El Buen Sabor in the Mission today. The burritos are upper mid tier and the female staff reminds me of Sarah's late mother, with warm but intense hispanic motherly care. Gotta love that.

Happy Memorial holiday weekend

Good Saturday morning. The Memorial holiday weekend commences. Sarah and I are going to do absolutely nothing. And I'm still jet lagged so staying in bed or the couch with some Netflix, Hulu or Amazon... Honey, did I just define this holiday weekend for us?

It feels good to be back home in Sausalito. The California Republic flags are flapping gently down by the ferry terminal.

Been there, done that

Last pizza in Stockholm before returning to San Francisco next week. It's funny, they look delicious, and smell gorgeously, but they are always subpar. The Swedish suburban pizza comes in hundreds of variants... of the same taste and texture. Never with mozzarella. That's the first and most striking difference between pizzas in the US and in Sweden. It has something to do with mozzarella being something exclusive and special. So they never put that on, unless you ask and pay for it. That's a typical Swedish attitude.

Labor Day weekend traveling

We often celebrate our anniversary at the Top of the Mark by having a nice dinner. This time around we decided to also stay the night here. Why not? The view over Huntington Park is lovely.
