Cooling off
The heat is on again. We have stayed the night at some friends house in Montara and now enjoying the beach. The ocean is surprisingly still in the gentle offshore wind. I'm getting the Santa Cruz feeling.

The Painkiller
Good old Judas is coming to Warfield next week. I planned to see them in Concord in 2011 but got sick. Maybe this is the (last) chance to see the metal icons.

But cash only
Although the San Francisco - Sausalito ferry only takes about 25 minutes, there is a large selection of beverages and snacks for the so inclined to choose from. Even alcohol.

Stand and deliver
The new BART trains are fresh and clean. AC that works properly, plenty of space and digital announcement boards. But there are comparably few seats. BART probably wants us to stand all the way from Millbrae to Antioch on weekdays.

Time to give up the kitsch
Royal Arts Co in Sausalito is closing "after 35 years". 35 years of kitsch? I don't know. And I don't know if kitsch is royal art. But I don't know a lot of things. I just live here.

Rare by the ocean
Such beautiful Poinciana we found by the ocean. They are usually not thriving in windy places, so this is a rare find.

97 degrees in the City today, so Trevor was hell bent to dip a toe at the Aquatic Cove on the lunch break.

Scorcher coming up
California has one of the best climates in the world. But in the summertime, the scorchers which spell triple digits, are a concern. This weekend and on Monday we expect one to arrive here in the Bay Area. I love the sunshine, but if it's too hot I'm not the biggest fan.

Union street fair. Lot's of smoke in the air. Pretty much all kinds of smoke. But the smoky smell of garlic fries is what cathes our attention. Sarah's already in line waiting to scoop up our fair share.

Union Street Fair commences this upcoming weekend. Sarah and I are planning to go. If you want to hook up, feel free to contact us.
Si tienes hambre...
Had a late lunch at El Buen Sabor in the Mission today. The burritos are upper mid tier and the female staff reminds me of Sarah's late mother, with warm but intense hispanic motherly care. Gotta love that.

Happy Memorial holiday weekend
Good Saturday morning. The Memorial holiday weekend commences. Sarah and I are going to do absolutely nothing. And I'm still jet lagged so staying in bed or the couch with some Netflix, Hulu or Amazon... Honey, did I just define this holiday weekend for us?

Home sweet home
It feels good to be back home in Sausalito. The California Republic flags are flapping gently down by the ferry terminal.

Been there, done that
Last pizza in Stockholm before returning to San Francisco next week. It's funny, they look delicious, and smell gorgeously, but they are always subpar. The Swedish suburban pizza comes in hundreds of variants... of the same taste and texture. Never with mozzarella. That's the first and most striking difference between pizzas in the US and in Sweden. It has something to do with mozzarella being something exclusive and special. So they never put that on, unless you ask and pay for it. That's a typical Swedish attitude.

Looks like the rains pushing into the Bay Area won't let up. Our Sausalito has had its fair share of mudslides. The Boulevard is hit the hardest.

Our new Governor
Gavin Newsom is our new governor. He is going to take the helm of the fifth largest economy in the world: California. California is the richest and poorest state in America. That is one of the challenges that Newsom is encountering. The 3 big H: Housing, Homelessness & Health. We wish you good luck, buddy.
